Batch Downloading Flickr Photos on Mac OS X

For this task I highly recommend Photo Grabbr by Malarkey Software. Photo Grabbr relieves you from the chore of downloading Flickr photos individually. Flickr photos are batch downloaded, saving you a tremendous amount of time.

Notes:

It isn't necessary to link Photo Grabbr to your Flickr account. That feature is for downloading photos available only to Flickr users. Photos I've flagged on my account for partial nudity are the type that fall under that umbrella. For the best quality set Grabbr to download my photos at original size. With a few exceptions the original shots (no resizing, watermarks, etc) are only what I upload to Flickr.

Windows?

Sorry Windows users, Photo Grabbr is a Mac OS X exclusive. If I find something for Windows (that I like) I'll let you know.

Every Hallowe'en night DJ Xris SMack! throws the biggest fetish party on the east coast. The three floors of Rebel NYC could not contain this party. These parties are open to everybody, it's not just for the alternative crowed. These shots look best on monitors with higher contrast ratios. They look okay on my MacBook Pro (laptop) but when I look at them on my Sharp Aquios (HDTV) it makes a big difference. I always try to get a shot from the performers' perspective.

Some paint with watercolors, I paint with light.

This was my fifth time shooting for Charetta. I studied my shots from past events to prepare. It was actually my first time doing so for any shoot and it really helped. I might also study video of their performances for future shoots.

When I started shooting bands I realized early on that with the drummer all the way in the back it's not going to be easy to get decent shot of 'im. I don't only shoot for myself, I'm here for the performers. They should all be represented in the photos. To get those drummer shots I must move closer; I don't use zoom lenses. If it means getting up on stage I always ask permission first. If I don't ask permission it means I risk throwing off the performers because they weren't expecting it.

When I'm up there I do what I can to avoid calling attention to myself. I'm not the only photographer there; I'd hate to get in the way of the photographers taking shots from offstage. I also don't want to be a distraction to the people who came out to support the band. I stay up there for two songs at most and hide behind speakers and stage stuff if possible. I also try to avoid standing directly in front of the drum stand. Wearing black also helps.

Good eats at NYC Japan Street Fair.

The NYC Japan Street Fair was nestled between 43rd & 44th Street during the Daytop Madison Avenue Festival. There was music, activities food and even contests. The New York Anime Festival had a booth there and I was able to meetup with some old friends. I had a blast; Here's hoping the NYC Japan Fair becomes an annual event.

Welcome folks. A beautiful update, of an amazing new band breaking through the layers of monotone sounds and surprisingly similar lyrical rhymes. This band is NoirceuR, and they rock till you just can't go on anymore! Seriously I am making it my goal to visit them live next time around and so should you! She swung with such determination that at one point her back was nearly parallel to the ceiling. This stunt was pulled in near darkness, mind you.

This is usually the part where I give a summary about the event but I'm feeling really sick today. I think all the controlled substances they have me on is breaking down my immunity barrier or something. Allow me to be brief: I had fun, the party attracted a great crowed of people, firemen crashed the party for half-an hour (boo), somebody broke the in-door swing, pressing the blue button activates pretty blue lights.

I don't know if I'm allowed to publicize the next event so I'll direct you to the Newmindspace website where you can sign up for the mailing list. I'll be in attendance taking pictures, as I often do, on that February 14th.

Last stop kids, I've posted them all.

I'm still wearing the wrist strap. I refused to take it off until I posted all the pics but now I can't bear to take it off. I'd rather it came off by itself. It matches anything I wear so what's the harm in keeping it on?

Well, now that this is over with I can work my way backwards and post shots from past events.
